Valve stem seals Empty Valve stem seals

Post by The Hurricane on Fri 24 May 2019, 3:49 pm

I have bought some new valve stem seals and looking a bit closer they are a slightly different colour. 4 are green and the other 4 are a bit darker shade of green. I then checked the old one's and they are the same.
So which 4 are the inlets and which are the exhaust valve stem seals.
Checking with a vernia, I can only see that the height is the only difference and that is only .25mm?

check the internal diameter. exhaust valve stem is smaller diameter than inlet

inlet 4.475--4.490

exhaust 4.465--4.480

They are interchangeable, realistically a hundredth of a millimetre is going to make no difference at all.
