Loose sprocket Empty Loose sprocket

Post by motofan on Tue 07 May 2019, 11:21 pm

Hi guys, just generally fiddling with my CB today and noticed play in the front sprocket. The gearbox shaft it fixes to is a little bit longer than the sprocket is thick, this means the sprocket is not clamped securely and moves a tiny bit. The washer is flat and so not designed to clamp the sprocket. Is this state of affairs normal 'cos I am definitely "old school" on this (or just old) and believe that a sprocket should be held tight.
Please enlighten me.
Cheers, Dave.
