Swinging arm bolt caps

Post by sullivj on Wed 05 Sep 2018, 8:11 pm

i broke the tabs off one of my swinging arm bolt caps. I have managed to glue the tab back on, but not sure if it will last.

So, I purchased a new pair from David Silver. 'Only' £28.50 for the pair!

Still, the bike has treated me well lately, so deserved a treat.

I'll have two dozen and any more he's got in stock!!

Honestly though - I think they look tacky. The discrete black of some random plastic tube caps off eBay look better, last a lot longer and cost a tenth of that.

I don't disagree with you Trevor BUT for me, it's about originality. I want the bike to be as close as to how Mr Honda intended it as possible.

Irrational I know, but there it is. If I can keep it nice and original, I'm happy.

I do wonder though whether with that particular part, it wasn't so much about intention as what was left over from previous models. It always struck me as a bit out of place on an otherwise utility-orientated bike.

You may well be right Trev. I seem to remember that it featured on a few bikes before the humble CB.
