Age/Mileage/Number of Keepers

Post by freeride on Tue 07 Aug 2018, 8:37 pm

I appreciate that motorcycles are not used(generally) as much as cars because most are laid up for the winter months and (generally) they are not always the first mode of transport available to most bikers.
However, having looked at a few bikes over the years I have some difficulty with low mileage bikes as "most" bikes(in my view) have a high number of keepers. Most bikes seem to have 7,8,9 keepers and I always have difficulty with the fact that a bike has only been passed through a number of keepers who by chance all without fail hardly did any mileage during their period of ownership.

So here we go with a survey to prove me wrong:-

Number of Keepers excluding yourself i.e what it states as the number of former Keepers on your V5 with your present mileage.

Post your individual response and it'll be added to the list.

I bought the bike with 56 miles on it so don't really count the first owner. He was too short and dropped the bike, nice little discount for me Smile

2002 (52 plate) CB500S. 75,000 miles. Used all year round except when the gritters aren't out. I'm the second keeper having bought the bike 18 months old with 3,000 miles on it. Maintained by myself, only ever visited a garage for a MOT once a year. Unfortunately scrapped 6 months ago because major money required to keep it safe and legal. Now using a CB500X.
