PM s Empty PM s

I have found that many times when I send a PM, it sits in my Outbox, sometimes for a day or two, until it finally departs and is then shown in the Sentbox.

Why do messages not depart immediately ?
Is it something to do with a setting, because neither my Inbox nor Sentbox are anywhere near full?

It sits in your outbox until the person you sent it to actually reads it. A weird way of working, but at least you know when it has been read.

Ah. I assumed that it hadn't been sent and therefore not received/readable.
