Running Rough

Post by freeride on Tue 13 Mar 2018, 9:33 pm

I'm having difficulty firing her up since before Christmas. She runs but wants full choke until she has warmed up thoroughly a ridiculous amount of choke if not she stalls. I've cleaned the plugs and maybe a gallon of new petrol may help as been nowhere since September!
Looks like a fuelling issue to me I know it's been cold but it's a little odd as anything less than full choke and she stalls.

Any ideas?

Thanks

With those symptoms, I'd be looking for an air leak somewhere on the inlet side. Perished or loose inlet rubbers possibly.

Clean out the float bowls.
The old petrol evaporates and leaves a gum like residue that blocks the smaller jets. Fresh petrol flowing through them is the easiest way to dissolve it. It just takes time.
