You don’t stop riding because you’re getting old, but you get old when you stop riding.

Hi all.
First post for me in any forum, anywhere. Don't do social media either BUT...
Have had my CB500s 02 plate for 3 years now. Lovely bike, thoroughly enjoying riding it. Spannering it has also been interesting, yet it's not that difficult to work on. Recent jobs done in the last few months include valve shim replacement. Runs lovely now.

Would like to acknowledge the huge contribution made to this site by y'all. Makes it really easy to dip into and find answers and tips specific to the CB, not to mention the useful and sometimes hilarious personal anecdotes.

Note to self: must try and get involved in some of the topics!Very Happy
Regards
Alex

Hi Old Wobbly

I guess I'm like you.  Hate social media but don't fear posting here as I feel I'm in good company, and we all share a common love;  our 500's!  I know bugger all about bikes, but the chance of getting flamed on here is remote as there is a common respect for each other.  Just like giving the 'nod' to other bikers I suppose (and hopefully getting one back).

Cheers, and look forward to reading some of your posts :-)

Welcome Alex! Very Happy
I'm growing to dislike social media as time goes on, it seems to bring out the worst in people of all ages. Ironically, my eldest son says that only old people use Facebook, I can't keep up with it all!
Happy to have the refuge of CB500club.net and like minded bikers Very Happy

Welcome along,

glad the forum is useful. I do worry that some of the good tips/fixes get a bit tied up in the what did you do with thread but thats a minor quibble.

Another non social media vote here, I've a landline and am in the book y'see.

Hi Alex-As you say it is a great site for finding hints and tips from people who have done the job before you. Even if they sometimes mess it up  Embarassed Embarassed
