Hello to all from 52N 10W

Post by watteau on Sun 05 Nov 2017, 12:26 pm

Hello to all.

Just bought CBF550 '07 with <10kkm as my fourth bike in 17 years Smile

A dumb question - it came (from dealer) w/o toolkit. Anyone would be so kind to write what was in set?
Want to assemble set for myself (plus Dynaplug and Motopressor) and don't know what to look for.

I don't know for sure what comes in a CB550 tool kit but if you look at the parts diagram on a site like http://www.cmsnl.com/ then you should be able to find out.

Perfect, thank you very much.

Saw the content of OEM kit,
ordered Cruz Tools SKJAS and their combination 14+22+27 wrench and I am all set.

Post up a photo of your bike when you get a chance, we haven't got many CBF's on here Smile

Sometimes you can pick complete sets up on eBay, for about £25!

Done. In fact, after weeks of rain, I did first 30 km on a new bike, rounding the clock to exactly 9990 Smile

This CBF 500 is all stock, apart from Renntec rack. So stock that tyres are 2009-2010, so will be changing them coming weeks.

In fact I am very surprised - this engine reminds me a lot typical British twins. Similar sound, similar behaviour, just wider bars, wider tank and more comfortable seat. A hint of vibration over 7k, but much less than with many thumpers and lot less than my Yamaha XS had.  This is a seriously good bike.

Sure, but no point really.
Stock tools are of middling quality - same like with all other Japanese bikes I know of.

I bought this:

http://www.cruztools.com/products/kitsmetric.html    -> SKJAS
www.cruztools.com/products/axleplug.html  ->: AW142227

Added things I already had:
http://www.dynaplug.com/carbon.html
www.rockycreekdesigns.com.au/motopressor-tyre-pump.html
replacement bulbs, small container with grease, tie ins, duct tape, some wire, 12V probe and I am all set for even a long travel.
Exchanged Cruz pliers with much heftier ViseGrip ones.

All fits under seat with room to spare, Cruz set plus axle wrench was about the price of used original one Smile
