Oil Change

Post by hawksquawks on Thu 12 Oct 2017, 1:08 am

Just wondering on my 125 bikes I change my oil every 1000 miles approximately. I would like to know how often people do oil changes on the CB500 1994 2003 models.  and can anyone recommend any brands of oil? typically I used rock oil guardian 10w40 in all my 125 bikes. but I am not sure regarding a 500cc. many thanks.

about every 3000 - 6000 miles. I usually do every 3k miles and use any 10w40 oil available.
People (myself included) use to use halfords "car" oil but it's a stupidly high price!

I've now switched to smith and allan oil, which if you include the delivery cost (based on buying x2 5liter bottles) works out at £2.86 a litre. Which is about 50% more than what you get from the 5 litre halfords bike oil equivalent.
