Alternator cover centre plug

Post by davecb5002 on Thu 28 Sep 2017, 7:22 pm

Help Shocked in need of an alternator centre cover plug. Had to butcher mine to remove it, was stuck fast with some sort of adhesive.
Would not budge even with impact driver, had to resort to hammer and chisel affraid.
So if anyone has a spare one in exchange for £ please let me know. Thanks

Is there still a holder of tappet shims for exchange ??

I find it much easier to take off the whole cover than just the centre plug. At worst it will need a new gasket which is much easier to get than a plug.

You can get a new one from Fowlers of Bristol, I got one as mine was badly scratched and scored by one of the previous owners dropping the bike. I don't think (can't really remember) it was too stupid a price for an original Honda part.
