Rad Fan Surround

Post by Fair Weather Rider on Wed 13 Sep 2017, 7:23 pm

Has anyone had the mounting bracket for the Rad Fan rust to nothing?
Can I get a replacement or do I have to buy the whole thing?

Thanks in advance

Yup rusted to nothing, or are you talking about the mounting tabs on the rad that like the sheer off?

I did without the shroud for many years with no problems.

Guess it's there to help keep the air pressure lower in that area to drag more air though it when the fan is running?

It's probably just there to satisfy health and safety by stopping not so clever people putting their fingers in there.

At the moment mine is still holding together, but will have to do something this winter.
If I was clever enough, perhaps I could make one.
I can't understand why it has rusted like it has, when it is close to a heat source.
