Mainenance/repair/fork seals

Post by BC3841 on Mon 11 Sep 2017, 5:54 pm

I decided to try out a tool for curing fork seal leaks advertised on ebay for £5.99. It's called 'Seal Mate' and I must say it saved me a lot of time and money.
They are available at:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR4.TRC2.A0.H0.Xseal+mate.TRS0&_nkw=seal+mate&_sacat=0

It took me around half an hour or so and the result was unbelievable, no more leaking. To save buying one, it's easily made out of plastic about as thin as a
mobile phone screen protective cover (around half the thickness of a credit card), as long as it's flexible. Draw the outline, as shown in the ebay ad., on the
plastic and cut around it. It's 5 1/4" long and 1 3/8" wide (that's 13.5cm by 3.5cm.)
