Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Possible top 5 Honda production bikes -

1. Fireblade - fast, reliable, iconic

2. VFR 750 - reliable, arguably best road bike ever produced

3. 750 Four - breakthrough bike for Honda, an engineering statement, the true beginning of dominance for Japanese bike manufacturers

4. C90 - the "bog seat," vast global sales of which primed the big Aitch's pump for future developments, key being the aforementioned 750 Four

5. ?

What goes at #5? The original Africa Twin? The 400 four? The CR500 (Red Rocket Elsinore)? The Black Bomber? Perhaps even the '90s CB500 twin - though being realistic, this probably shouldn't make the top 5. Or should it?

For 5, I'd like to say the ST70 (aka Dax) I bought a new one in 1975 and they are still made today, albeit in China by Skyteam. Which tells you something about their continuing desirability. But realistically, I'd have to vote for the CB125. (any year, they didn't change much) Everybody's learner bike.

CB500? Is that a stupid suggestion or something. C90 and vfr750 are two of my favourite bikes of all time so I agree with that.

Well, it is capable of very high mileages - so it has that going for it. Would you put it in the top 10, may be?

I think I would possibly "update" No 2 with the VFR800Fi, the last of the gear driven cam variety - but this is only mo own opinion................... and the CB500 at No 5 for me.

I have never owned (or piloted) the 750 but did a huge amount of research and loved the combination    of the single sided swing arm and the V4 power-plant. It is a beast, yes it is heavy and looks cumbersome but this is very quickly once on the move. I like the angular shape of the earlier 750's but the newer style of the 800 has really grown on me. Love it to bits  - using a smaller Honda for commuting and this for days out and the occasional blast for the trip to work and back.
