New member from Spain

Post by Hcb on Sun 13 Aug 2017, 12:01 pm

Hi people!

My English is not very good, but lets try ..

Im from Spain, and, in 2008, I bought a Cb500, year 1996, with 37.000 km. Now, the CB has 126.000 km. Im from Andalucia, an incredible place to drive.. Although, al regions
of Spain are wonderful for motorcycle routes.  (It does not rain frequently, except in the north)

The engine has only been opened one time, for one cam chain change. Only two tensioners for cam chain were needed. For the rest, oil changes every 6000 km, nothing more.

The bike has some extras and customizations. An Puig Ranger Windshield, (great!), a Yamaha SR Special Handlebar, to increase the height, for super relaxed driving,
and two bar-end handlebars from a big scooter, that reduces the vibrations drastically..  and very important for me, the seat has modified with a big gel pad on all the
surface. With all these modifications, I have achieved great comfort on route.

I use the CB for multiple purposes. Conmute work and route on this 10 years.

And something curious.. I bought a TDM 900 on 2015. More horsepower, more ability to travel. Technically, a better motorcycle in all aspects... but.. The fun of driving,
the character, the great balance of features, comfort, durability, and personality of the CB, caused him to sell the TDM.

The others "big" motorbikes are boring and heavyest for me. The cb500 is the only bike that makes me smile.

A photo of the bike..

Thanks all !!

Wellcome Hcb, what a great looking bike, love the Handlebars, did you have to lengthen any of the cables? or did it all fit as standard? Could do with a set like that on mine, for extra comfort.
You are right about the CB500 mine makes me smile too, such a good bike.
I have been on holiday several times to Andalucia, mostly driving a rental car, so I know what you mean about the great roads and scenery.

Happy Days.

Hi!

I only needed to lengthen the electric cable from the left (lights). The other cables have no problems.

About Andalucia.. The big problem of this region is the high temperature in summer.. (Sevilla City) At 17:00, we have 45 degrees celsius. It is not an exaggeration. Literally, we have that temperature or even more. In this situation, if you want to drive, you need to wake up very early to avoid the hot weather.

Happy Days.

Hi.

In this photo, you can see the handlebar in more detail. Also, an old puig windshield that I changed recently.

Bye!

Welcome hcb. I see that you are using servimg.com to post pictures. What's it like to use? The registration seems a bit odd?

It's the standard hosting that comes with the site but the hosting is very limited in storage space, that's why it's recommended for us to use other hosting services.
