What are these ?

Post by Beresford on Thu 06 Jul 2017, 1:06 am

After years of having the man cave as a total s**t pit without even room to get the bike in so I could keep it dry and work on it, I decided on a thorough tidy and re-organisation. In the course of this I came on these things which I didn't know i had. So can anybody tell me what they are?
I'm guessing that the larger thing is some kind of cutter or splitter and the two smaller things are some kind of press, maybe chain splitters. Any ideas?

They look to me to to do with riveting on a larger scale. The first one is end bolt type cutters using the leverage from the thread rather than long handles. The other two are for removing rivets in one way or another. Probably from drive chains.

The second two things are not very big, and they are spring loaded

Could they be nut splitters, or maybe chain breakers?

The second one is definitely a chain breaker. I have an almost identical one (albeit slightly bigger I think) and use it on my KTM offroader, which has a riveted chain. Your one could be for smaller chains like a cam chain?
