Leaking gear change shaft oil seal

Post by skyerae on Thu 15 Jun 2017, 8:32 pm

Noticed yesterday that this oil seal is dripping oil, so it needs to be replaced. It this a big job, the Haynes misinformation manual seems to infer that you need to remove the clutch? Anyone done this job, or with information on completing this repair? I am quite handy with spanners and have worked on cars (and bikes now) for many years but not tackled a job like this. Brakes and shocks (front that is) is more my forte but willing to learn as I go. Any suggestions appreciated..................thanks!!
