Hi folks, just bought a 99 S model from Simon who wrote about his Alpine exploits here. Having just sold my CBF1000 a minter with 7K on the clock I needed a lighter bike due to health issues and decided that the CB 500 was far superior to other bikes in this class, never read a bad review. 
No picture sorry haven't got round to it yet.
Been biking for 50 years mainly sports bikes with a Harley thrown in Sleep are you still awake. yes an old fart but love my bikes. Live in Portsmouth, Safe riding to all.  Rick

Welcome to the forum Rick. 

CBF1000 is a great bike, but a tad heavy as you say.  You won't go wrong with your CB5.

There's a few of us chaps in the South. Hope to meet you at a future southern meeting.
