suspension upgrades

Post by Melitos on Tue 24 Jan 2017, 6:11 pm

Hello

I'm thinking about suspension upgrades. Is the concensus still that Hagon is the way to go?

I'm typically riding on streets and b-roads etc, not on track.

EDIT: I somehow managed to make this separate thread even though I was trying to post a reply to existing thread at: http://www.cb500club.net/t1409-suspension-upgrades
I think it is best to continue at that thread.

BR,
Antti

Hagon, Tec or YSS are the usual

Tec seems to be the most favourable as they're cheap but really good quality, I use them on my bike and they're decently hard/firm.

YSS are the most expensive but offer the most adjustment in the forms of preload and rebound adjustability.

Hagon only last a couple of years before rusting and marking up.

Hi

Thanks for your opinions. Let's see if there are more.

As a side note, I tried to make the initial posting as a reply to older suspension upgrade thread at http://www.cb500club.net/t1409-suspension-upgrades but it seemed not to work.

I don't mind if moderators merge these threads (if possible)

I split the thread as the one you posted in was from 2013, that and the people who posted no longer use this site.

I got some Hagons off ebay (they are/were in new condition) - they certainly more firm than the 20-year-old original shocks that I replaced! I haven't found them *too* hard but other people have complained that they are too stiff - this maybe related to how much padding you have on your arse and/or how good you seat is Smile

If I hadn't found the Hagons going cheap on ebay then I would have bought some TEC shocks as other people on this site have done.
