Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Hi all,

I am the proud owner of early red PC26 in German spec. The bike is quite original except for small screen. Only about 48k km on the clock (~30k miles). I have had the bike for about 1.5 years now.

The bike was originally sold to Germany with 37kW. Second hand imported to Finland and at some point it has also had 25kW restrictors. Today the bike has 43kW parts and papers.

Here's a picture taken at Klobbskat Fishing Harbour (google map link to location  https://goo.gl/maps/oriqJNS2J8o )

On my "to do-list" during this winter are checking valve clearances, rebuilding carbs with CAB-H17 kits and installing dynojet kit to fix intermittent acceleration around 6-7k rpm at WOT and installing a bit louder exhaust. I may have to open a new topic to appropriate section of this forum for these.

EDIT: 25.1.2017 added pic from new image hosting service

Best Regards,
Antti

Welcome - orange is THE fastest colour.

Are the radiator covers new? I think they were black originally.

Hello!

I adjusted your post so that your image link showed up.  You can only put direct links (ones that are to a jpg gif png file etc) in an image tag.  I don't know how your image hosting works but if you can find a direct link to your picture (for example - http://www.example.com/picture.jpg) the image tag will work better.

Before you go buying a whole dynojet kit for your bike you should have a read of the forum - we have generally found that you only need to adjust the needle position and go up one jet size (i.e. you only need to buy the one jet per carb) with a K&N filter and free-flowing exhaust.  I'll find a link at some point....

Anyway, nice to see you are having fun with your CB500!

Hi, Thanks for your kind words and advice.

@sullivj: I think the orange with black covers is later model? Mine is 1995 and in IMHO they should be red with red covers.

@eternally_troubled: Thanks, I'll change to some other image hosting which does not encrypt the image file name. I'll also have a look at the jetting thread.

Hi

You'll find nicer scenery and twistier roads in East and North. I live in west-coast and it's all flat and straight roads plowing through crop-fields.
