Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Has anyone here ridden one of the current CBR500R or CB500F models?

Stats from Honda's website says for the 2016 cbr500r

471 CC
Max Power Output 35kW @ 8500rpm 46.6bhp (remember these are taken at the crank)
Max Torque 43Nm @ 7000rpm
Kerb Weight 194kg

The cb500 of our time is (at the crank)
57 bhp
33.9 ft.lbs (45nm)

My personal is (at the rear wheel)
51.33 bhp(38.27kW)
38.37 ft.lbs (52nm)
but the changes mine has are K&N, a debaffled exhaust and a +2 rear sprocket

Dover is a bit too far for me but if he was closer... it would be a completely different story with a censored speedo in a video Wink

Evening all. Very Happy

Well, I've had the new bike a week and, despite the dreadful weather, I've managed to get a hundred or so miles on it.

I am very pleased with it indeed. I have a few accessories to fit over the next few weeks, and it will only see the road on a sunny day or life-and-death emergency until the spring is here, so most of my enjoyment of it will be indoors for a bit! Laughing

If you think there's going to be any interest, I'll do a thread about it.

Many thanks for your help, suggestions and thoughts. All the best, Glen.

Yeah, we're certainly all interested (well I am, anyway).

I can see why you want to keep it in the garage until spring!

I took a serious look at the CB500F & CB500X. I like the X in particular for the riding position. However I need a bike for all seasons and looking at used bike from 2013 & 2014 it became clear that they are not as corrosion resistant as the older models.
