New forum section

Post by liverpool_f_ on Thu 08 Sep 2016, 9:51 am

I was wondering if the forum administrators would be interested in setting up a new section on the forum for topics that are non cb related. Things like questions, tips or advice on subjects like other bikes, cars, specialist tool loans, engineering and so on. Every so often these topics show up on here And make interesting reading but i think people refrain from posting non cb stuff and they think its not relevant.

There are tons of different professionals on here there is an awesome pool of knowledge on this forum. As cb'ers tend to be diy'ers i think we could all learn a lot. Any thoughts?

Sounds a good idea to me.
Just something like 'random questions'
It doesn't matter if no one knows does it?

While we are at it.
I was going to put a pic up of my CB in gallery.
It appears we have run out of storage space.
Is it possible to create another gallery where we could post links to pictures (on flickr type thing?)
We can embed them to the gallery.

I thought we had more storage space than we knew what to do with..  I'll ask Jerryfudd to come along and check.

Good idea.

I've always thought a non CB500 sub workshop section might be handy too for peeps who require advice on other bikes in their stable.

I'm happy to second this as a good idea. Quite a few forum members have multiple bikes they are familiar with.

Sounds good to me. I have to fix my wife's bikes & it would be handy to get advice occasionally, but I don't want to join a forum & chat about them  Wink I'm sure folks on here have the expertise to help me out.

Just to clarify: you are talking about a 'non-CB500 workshop' section to deal with fixing other bikes, cars, lawnmowers etc ?

Fixing that stuff or general posts/links of interest. Any engineering info or just something you think others on here might find interesting.

I'd personally use it for stuff relating to my cb4 and maybe my mates xj6 project

hmmm well looking at the sections none of them specify that they are strictly for CB500's so i don't see any reason why you can't already post anything you think other members would be interested in reading....

I had thought something very similar, which was why I asked a few posts earlier exactly what a new forum would be for.

I've got nothing against people posting about other non-cb500 bikes/cars/lawnmowers/bicycles etc in any forum - if it becomes a problem we'll make a non-CB500 forum and put it all in there.
