i think my tec shocks came with alloy extenders which i didn't fit, that's probably why the bikes not leaning as much as I'd like. Did you guys use them?

No extenders on mine. We're talking about the basic £50 ones, right?

I´ve cleaned my bike and topped up oil ready for the return journey from spain. (see electric nightmares in workshop for details!) she´s looking fine!

And loaded before i set off -

i have to admit she doesn´t handle quite the same loaded!

That's a most honourable procession, well done!
On my side, I fitted a 12V cigarette lighter socket using the dimmer light circuit, seems to work fine so far.
Today, 1st of October, it's also been exactly 1 year since I've owned my trusty yellow "Bumblebee" CB500S, I've put more than 20,000km on the clock (now sitting at more than 93k) and look forward to putting some more

Re: What did you do with your CB500 today?
Did a little mock up of some bits I've been collecting, got some measurements that I'm reasonably happy with. Always remember measure once, take note, do something else then measure again and compare... not got to the cutting stage yet.
Need a pair of forks (these are badly bent) and a 25mm wheel axle bolt to get the correct measurement for the caliper spacing and alignment, may need machine down the wheel spacers. Then it'll be getting a pair of yokes... hopefully

Cheers Andy, I did have a quick look through your ebay listings before hand and nothing came up that you'd listed, did a quick ebay search on other bikes too 06-09 zx10, 07-08 zx6, though I might just keep it all triumph and chuck in a speed triple 1050 as that's what the wheel is from. The real deciding factor is the price.

Unfortunately all of mine are too small for you James, either 20 or 22mm.

Sorry to hear that James.
I missed out on my Saturday rideout, the usual hour-long long way round to the shops etc as I got surprise tickets to the travelling Chinese State Circus at Oxford.
No motorcycles there but some pretty amazing cycling amongst fantastically skilled performances.
If you get a chance to go, do!

Fell off
Had the bike in the garage on the centre stand and decided to sit on it while I checked the frame number, stood on the left footrest to get off and it broke, yes down I went injuring my right leg some how in the process. Limped in doors to peals of laughter from the wife
this must be the most embarrassing falling off ever.
So need a new footrest ,tried some breakers no luck, therefore last resort Dave Silver. WOW, how much
with vat and delivery £42
and that is only the main part there are 3 parts without the hero blob and screws.
Still main thing back on the road.

The wheels do look very nice. Did they rebalance them when they refitted the tires?

That was all in for the price.@sullivj wrote:The wheels do look very nice. Did they rebalance them when they refitted the tires?
They offered to fit some right angle valve stems, to make blowing tyres up easier, but he wanted £7.50 each extra for that and I don't have a problem blowing my tyres up anyway.
Happy Days.

Coincidentally, I've had to replace mine as well. Keeled over in downtown-traffic-chaos while touring Romania this summer and broke it. Rear peg will fit as a bodge.
I've done similar things; dropped the bike in my own driveway one summer day while doing maintenance; got it leaned over too much to the far side, losing balance. Holding desperately on to the bike, I was dragged across and down, doing a somersault in the process

One can't help but laugh - once the pain is gone...
42£. That got you an OE part, right?
