Silver Engine Paint to suit 94-95 CB500R?

Post by Vardypeeps on Wed 29 Jun 2016, 1:02 pm

Hello.

What have people found to be the best matching silver engine paint for the older carb CB500R (94-95) or any of the models to be honest?
I would like to roughly go over exposed areas of the casings to avoid corrosion.

Cheers Dan.

I searched with Engine Paint but it didn't return the right results so not sure what I've done!

Thank you very much by the way.

I'm not actually sure that anyone knows the 'paint code' for the engine - RS bike paints don't seem to.

I used some christmas spray paint I got from the local hardware shop - it wasn't a match for existing engine paint, it was too 'silvery', so I suspect the proper paint is more of a grey-silver. The bike still looked better after I had done it Smile

I was lucky to find some new old stock ones. I still have the original ones, if anyone wants them to spray up.

obviously there are many different shades of this, but i find silver wheel paint often comes out looking more silver/grey-ish.

How does wheel paint stand up to heat from the engine? Only ask as I have been "gifted" a bunch of spray cans including some silver alloy wheel spray and would like to spruce up the engine.
