I was just thinking about getting one made up in stainless steel for my track bike project.
I know a lot of people have trouble with corrosion on the standard ones.
How many would be interested is the question?
Pricewise it would work out about the same as the OE ones.
But back to your original question it is an M10 x 270mm bolt. Very Happy

Sounds like a good plan. Were you thinking of the *rear* bolt or the front one? A stainless version of either sounds good.

Anyway, it might be worth sticking a post in the 'general' section to get an idea of who might buy one?

i made 2 front engine bolts out of stainless.

Did you know that CB5's have 2 different front engine mounting possibilities?
One is where the tube has holes drilled in it to mount a bracket which takes a 220mm bolt and the other is 2 tabs welded onto the frame which I think is either 260mm or 280mm.

The bracket is for the 's' faired models.

Might be interested in this, and the front bolt if machined as well, but I have the unfaired model.

I'm strongly considering making like batches of 25 stainless bolts and selling them for a tenner or something each at this stage with the stainless nuts too......
