There has been lots of posts on here about rubber bungs on ebay that work just as well.

I got rid of mine, cleaned up everything with a Dremel with wire brushes and then painted everything with smooth black Hammerite. Looks better and doesn't rust.

I just fitted a couple the other day.  I trimmed down the fins, smothered them in grease and whacked them in with a rubber mallet.  Took about ten minutes each side and look better than the standard chrome jobbies imo...

alternatively soak them in boiling water first and they're a good fit without grease or trimming

have you thought about smearing the grooves of the bung with fernox to stop water getting
