Fuel exhaust users

Post by liverpool_f_ on Wed 10 Feb 2016, 5:45 pm

I have just bought some nice ss downpipes and I am looking for an end can to match. I am after one that sounds great and a bit louder than stock with the baffle in for long commuting but also not unbearably loud with it out for weekend thrashing.

So far I think I have settled on the fuel classic midi, but I have the opportunity to buy a mini classic for a good saving. Has anyone gone with the mini over the midi and is it obnoxious compared to the longer unit? Anyone familiar with both?

Also, are people who bought fuels happy with the performance both with the baffle in and out. I have heard people complain about other exhausts that the bike loses performance one way or the other.

Lots of questions so cheers for any answers from you guys!

did some searching on the forum (as you can tell im super busy at work) and came up with these topics

http://www.cb500club.net/t1444-after-market-exhausts-fuel#9546

http://www.cb500club.net/t1189-new-fuel-exhaust#7904

http://www.cb500club.net/t3722-mini-or-midi#30119

I know very little about these but the opinion seems midi - hopefully someone will come along with some first hand experiences.

In regards to the baffle I also saw another fuel exhaust topic describing the same thing that I've experienced which is it seems down on power with the baffle out.

Lastly if it helps make up your mind visually there is a link to some pics of mine in the sig and that has a 380mm so you'll be 30mm shorter or 20mm longer (but I also guess there could also be some variation on the link pipe).
