Broken Lever - ASV Levers

Post by Anigai on Tue 09 Feb 2016, 11:29 am

I only just got my CB500 running and on the road and I've already dropped it, I got an unlucky spot and my foot slipped sending the bike onto the left side.

Does anybody have levers that aren't stock?
A friend of mine pointed these out ASV Levers to me: http://asvinventions.com/Unbreakable-Levers

They look pretty neat if a little pricy though. They have a budget one for €50 which looks a bit better but still.

Anybody got anything that's like these?

Bad luck on dropping your bike. It's just one of things that happens. At least you didn't drop it while crashing into something ;)

No, I've not got any of those levers, but I can see the point.

Do they do one specifically for the CB500 (I couldn't find one) or are there some generic ones that should fit?

It depends which model bike you have to what will fit on the brake side. For the older nissin MC there are tons of options but conversely only one or 2 for the later Brembo.

Check this thread for info.

Wow thats a pretty good thread but it's as old as the hills.

Theresa handy set I found on ebay through there but at £65 I think I'll wait until i break one again just so i can have justification.

At this point I have usually found that a broken lever is the least of your problems. Crying or Very sad

I've got a spare used OEM clutch lever if you want PM and I'll send it to you.

That's a really nice offer Werner but i've already picked up a new crappy replacement lever.
I do really appreciate the offer though.

I'm looking forard to getting the new lever sorted, I'm pulling the thing with fewer fingers which means tired hands.
