Post by wornsprokets on Fri 08 Jan 2016, 7:54 pm

Ive been thinking of getting an oil extraction pump, the type that sucks engine oil out of the dip stick  hole with out taking out engine oil drain bolt, ive a peugeot 306 van with 223k miles on it(doing somthing right).last oil change was messy with a strong wind   ): wil  it work on cb and fireblade through there oil filler caps sucking oil out?(del boys garage use one on his old van, doesnt show him using it on his bikes?

I don't see why it wouldn't work, assuming the hose thing is small enough to get through the hole and into the bottom of the sump.

With the van, or your CB500 if you are using one of those pumps to change the oil then it's a good idea to do a 'proper' (sump plug out) oil change every so often (say every 3 or 4 oil changes) to make sure that get any sludge completely out that might be missed by the pump.
