Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Size of top box

Post by wornsprokets on Tue 01 Dec 2015, 9:41 pm

Ive been looking at a givi e 450(45litre) top box. It fit two helmets would this box be too big on cb and would it be dodgy filtering through traffic scratch

I have a e46 top box on mine. I don't think it's any wider than the mirrors. I only put the side E41s on, when I'm going on a trip:

I've filtered with a e45 box & found no problems, the handlebars are wider.

I think they're a bit more expensive but you may want to go for monokey over monolock as the fixings are more secure.

I use eiter E52 or E55 on mine no problems
But with either box and two E21 panniers  it is not that stable over a ton :-))

As everyone has said, you'll be fine. I despatched in London for years with E45 and had no issues.

As above comments. I used a Give V46 top box for years, including a trip around western Europe and it never once proved "Too big" for the bike.

Can anyone please advise which rack to buy to fit the monokey plate please. All I can find are just normal "racks" but I also may want to also fit hard panniers later?

Good luck finding a hard luggage pannier rack, they're rare as rocking horse poo these days unless you get a really expensive   Infact I've just remembered fehling still do them, you need to have the Topcase Carrier to fit the panniers (side cases). This is the one that I've got fitted to my bike.
