Post by cb500Jord on Thu 29 Oct 2015, 7:21 pm

Hi everyone!

right i got a bit of a problem.. i have a new ignition barrel to put on the CB however, i got rid of my car the other day and have jut noticed i left my keys in the glovebox.. im guessing you cant just get a new key as it fits the tank as well as the ignition.. (all keys on the same ring)

am i gunna need a new tank aswell as the ignition or is there anywhere i can get some new keys ?

I may have a lockset hiding in my garage.
Thats the ignition, fuel cap and seat lock.
I'll take a look when I get a chance tomorrow.

You could get a key made for it:

Edit: Andy got in there first Smile

You may have problems changing the locks without the keys but it can be done.  You'll probably have to drill out the old locksor get them picked first.

I don't know if it's the case for our bikes but some hondas had a key number stamped on the barrel so you could order a replacement from a main dealer.

Any chance you can get in contact with the new owner to get the old keys back?

i have tried to get in contact with the old owner. but he is a recovery driver and the car was scrapped so the keys are long gone now.
