Front fenders compatibility with CBF500

Post by Arfa on Tue 27 Oct 2015, 2:17 pm

Could do with a new front fender for a 2006 CBF500. Do any fenders from other models also fit? CBF600, CBF1000?

They've all got different part numbers, but wasn't sure if that was just due to the different fastenings in the kit. Numerous fender extenders seem to fit all model fenders fine, so they can't be that different, can they...?

I'm not sure (being as most people have the CB rather than CBF500 here) and its a fair assumption to say that if the fender extender fits multiple then they could potentially be interchangeable but in reality it just means that the taper across the rear is 'similar' which could just be because they were all done by the same design team but fit in different ways. I would have thought that any company making parts such as extenders will actively try to make a single unit fit many fenders even if they are slightly different to reduce manufacturing costs and keep a better stock.

have you tried the bikersoracle CBF500 group?

In theory you'd need to find a bike that uses the same size wheel & possibly fork diameter for the fender to fit properly. It may still require some modification dependant on where the fixings are though.
