Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Weird battery failure

Post by HomeBrew on Sat 30 May 2015, 7:46 pm

I rode the bike home no problems, when I went to leave after 1.5 hours the bike was completely dead, checked the voltage it was 6 volts, changed it for a spare I had, rode back to where i'm staying and now the voltage is 10.4 on the old battery. Has it broken inside do you think?

14.7 v at idle, drops to 14.3 when revving. Lights off in neutral.

Agree with tricky honda regulators are piece of s--t , they dont always totally blow my experience of them they partically work and that can confuse u, the one on my fireblade it  only acted up when lights are on and bike cut out at traffic lights and battery was flat and it started with push. It also damaged battery damaged a cell. And i coped this  put multimeter to battery disconnected from bike and reading kept dropping  did not stabilise .dead cell in batt, and it was a bosch and fairly new. Cb has done same also after 60 mile journey with headlight on batt was dead but didnt damage batt on this bike. Honda 1990s gremlin problem and cheap ebay ones dont last that long either so  i heard
