Solved Bagster tankbags

Post by ashcroc on Fri 22 May 2015, 1:50 pm

I've recently fitted a bagster tank cover to mainly to hide a couple of small dings & am on the lookout for a tankbag as I'm not sure my magnetic ones will work with it.

I'm a little lost with which bag to go for & am wondering what ones others use & if you have any issues with them like sounding the horn on full lock.

where did you find one? I kept a lookout on eBay for quite awhile - only one I saw was the one listed for an S model awhile ago but forgot to bid!

I got a Triumph one years ago for my 955i Tiger. It attaches with straps to the frame and I found it works well on the Honda. There was a small mod in that I had to modify the shape of the access hole for the filler, but this isn't seen when the bag is in place.

Found a 2nd hand one on ebay on an 'all catagory' search for cb500.

If you're willing to go continental there's a new one in Germany for a reasonable price.

The horn sounding is the turn warning indicator feature. Wink

After much procrastination I ended up getting a 15-24lL Bagster Driver bag.  It's a perfect fit on the CB500 & doesn't interfere with controls on full lock using standard bars. You can even see the clocks & idiot lights over it.

The fact I can use my tablet as a giant satnav is a bonus. cheers

I've a bagster tank cover on mine. It goes on for winter and its main job is to keep my knees warm. I haven't fitted anything although there are various hooks, I'd say its worth having.
N.B. All controls work fine.

Yep the cover doesn't obstruct anything & the padded knees are nice. The tank bag fits directly on those various hooks you mentioned.
