Don't be so mean, mate. There are so many CBs around in a really bad shape. Always pleased to see a good one.

You're absolutely right.

Please forgive me, Jon. I ❤️ Tango and kinda wish you'd a blog on her with lots of pretty pictures. Maybe even a webcam in your garage?

Again, a thousand apologies.

Apology accepted. Now get back up those stairs and sort your Mrs out Wink

My latest occasion looked pretty shitty, too, and it was no piece of cake to get rid of all that mud, rust and oil.
But that one has done only 30k miles, so I've got a clue how it would look like after 90k. Regarding the fact that only few 500 cc bikes would survive such a distance it is amazing that this one is still on the road -and that's what counts, as we all know that 'chrome won't take you home'.

By the way: I learned some english today...had some minor problems to figure out what 'far canal' means.

My bike was originally purchased by a female friend who wanted to learn to ride. I convinced her to buy it as she kept hinting at CBR600s and such like. I said, "no! You WILL drop/crash the bike - every learner does, so buy something shit".

This bike was very, very cheap and needed a few things doing to it, but my friend got bored and never touched it. It sat outside my house for months and then I bought it off her. I've since done almost 25,000 trouble free miles - apart from the camchain tensioner breaking, everything else has been age related; exhaust rotted, radiator holed, fork seals popped.....

I rode it to Paris and back in a day, almost 800 miles at 90-110mph - it used no oil. An epic machine!

Pin the throttle open in 3rd overtaking a slow driver in the rain last night.
Fine until I hit the power band just as I'm passing the cage:

wheelspin...> Shocked
tail steps out...> No
violent wobble ensues...> affraid
I accept my fate and don't try to fight the thrashing bars too much Sleep

Really thought things were going a bit crashy there. Totally messed up the next few corners - kept forgetting to brake! Laughing
Sometimes I forget there's actually quite a bit of power up the top end.
Probably best not to pin it in the rain?  Twisted Evil

Bloody hell! You did the right thing by not trying to fight the 'bars. Maybe you hit some diesel, or some sort of oily patch? Either that or you're the size of one o' those wee jockey-like Irish road racers - I'm a salad-dodger and the only time my CB spins up is on gravel!

Fitted Delkevic headers, SP Engineering link pipe and silencer. Also heated grips and changed the oil and filter ready for my jaunt to Le Mans next week.
Waiting for some EBC pads from eBay and having a pair of BT 45s fitted on Tuesday.
The end can is noisier but the advantage is the difference in weight and the fact that with the baffle it is road legal.  On the overrun it sounds like the applause at the Oval!

Looks sweet. I'm guessing the sp link pipe has a centre stand stop since you've still got yours fitted.

Fingers crossed if the weather's good tomorrow I'll have my new to me remus can fitted.

The does look good. I've not seen a radiator reflector before. Quite a good idea that.

It has got the stand stop Ashcroc and the rad reflector kind of covers a PO's effort to disguise an earth wire after the rad one failed at some point Sullivj

Could be a little bit from Column A, a little bit from Column B... Though I did have my groceries on board for added ballast. Laughing
Had a look to see if I could see anything there the next day but I suppose it might have washed away by then.

No harm done anyway and another valuable lesson learned. It's good to learn these things on the CB and not on a Gixxer Thou I think. study

Went for a group ride first of May. We were about a hundred, first time touring in group. Great experience! Recommend.

Riding in a large pack can be fun & it looks like you had nice scenery too.

After struggling & failing to loosen the exhaust studs, I finally gave up on the stainless downpipes for the time being & fitted my remus can to the stock ones.  Glad I did too as it looks & sounds so much better. The magic they've done tuning the note is superb.

I went up to Donnington Park for the first round of the Moto Gymkhana tournament (a 322 mile round trip, which seems to attract comments). I usually get hassled over why I'm not taking part when I have the "ideal bike" but there actually was a female competitor there with a CB500 Sports bike.

Had the bike over a year now and ive FINALLY got round to giving it a really good deep clean. I could have spent much longer on it but had other things to do.
It did give me a list of work to do on it though but luckily nothing major.

I dunno. I'll flip some coins, or something, but if it comes up with UKIP, I'm gonna have to scrap it!
