Which year/model parts will fit my -95 pc26 (R)?

Post by Twinman on Tue 28 Apr 2015, 5:58 pm

Ok, so I slammed my bike in the tarmac...
Dislocated my shoulder in an attempt to soften the fall for my dear little Honda, but broke the left footrest hanger(bracket?), and the headlight lens.
Otherwise just some scrapes and bruises, mendable with a lick of paint, a hope...
I'm searching eBay for used parts, but which year/model will fit my -95?
And is there any difference in left hand- vs right hand drive models for the lens?

Unlucky mate, glad you're ok.

The good news is the left hanger is the same for all years.  Headlight got changed when they went to disc rear and not sure if the lense is different but if you get a complete unit it'll fit.

No problem.   Iirc the mounting bolts are different between the two headlights so if you get a later one be sure to get them thrown in too.

NB a PC26 headlight rim will fit in a PC32 headlight bowl (just) as I discovered the other day.

Can't see why vice versa wouldn't work too, therefore.

Oh dear! Glad to hear the damage was mainly cosmetic (the bruises will fade in time Smile

As mentioned above those parts are almost all interchangeable between all years of CB500.

Yes, the headlight lens supplied is either a left-hand drive or right-hand drive version (so don't buy one from the UK!).

Was some of that gravel I can see in the picture related to your accident?

Ok, so I have to find the headlight/lens somewhere else. Good to know!

No, the gravel is from the side of the road, the tarmac was clean.
