Fuel Exhaust, Baffle, Link Pipe & Clip - SOLD!

Post by jerryfudd on Thu 20 Nov 2014, 3:59 pm

Hi,

As the title says I've got one of these for sale for the CB500 - the link pipe was attached with quite a bit of firegum or equivalent so as yet I haven't been able to separate the two by hand but then haven't really tried either.

There is also a dent on the hidden side of the can.

I'm thinking £50 + postage.....

If he don't take it I'll buy it back!

BTW, it's grey silicon sealant on the joints so should come apart quite easily.

Too late, I've already bought it!

As I was saying to jerryfud, my current exhaust is held together by:

* epoxy putty (milliput to be exact)
* giant hose clips
* thin sheet metal
* VHT paint

As you might imagine the hose clips are strapping the sheet metal over the holes that are plugged with epoxy putty, the VHT paint is badly applied over the top of everything.

Lol sounds very...... functional Smile

As the man says sold now.

Couldn't split the link pipe so wrapped all as one - atleast it will be air tight!

No worries I'll just get a new one sans battle scars Wink

Think I may have been a bit over zealous with the sealant but it was a long day sorting out the broken hanger between night shifts & I didn't want a blow.

It's certainly on there! after nearly pulling my arm out trying to separate the two and of the opinion it's new owner would be putting it back in the same place I decided to leave it be Smile

New Beowulf one turned up yesterday Razz

Hehe that Loctite is decent stuff. I'm sure it'd be easier to pull apart if the link pipe was still clamped to the bike.

Out of interest,  which Beowulf can did you go for & does the link pipe have a stop for the centre stand? I assume you remembered to keep the rubber bung the stand rests on Wink
