I just happen to be breaking a 929 Fireblade at the moment, so I have two pairs of coils complete with connectors available at the moment.

Hi!

amazing mod man. Just two weeks ago by surprise my bike starts to fail. Like she works only with one piston sometimes (lost power especially in low revolutions).

I read about this issue and founds maybe is a coils problem.
i dissamble the petrol tank and arrive to the old coils. Put off and measuring resistance. All is ok, but one of the sparks pipes dont measures the correct ohms specs all the times i take the measure (left motor side). I change for a new one (and put also a iridium NGK sparks) and mounts all again.

Now the motorcycle go really good again. Better than before, i think maybe the new iridium sparks.

And now i read this and i´m thinking, because now i know how to arrives to the coils and put off (i have not fear i want to say):

Maybe i put a new ones... If their fits well and works better like you say ANDYC is a really afair.

I´m spanish, and my english is not very good, and i have fear to make a mistake. You say the only thing i have to do is take off the old big coils from the frame (with their metal suport) and put this new from a CBR fireblade 2002/03 ??
The conexion are the same?? Only this two wires?? (i try to put one photo)
I disconect from the old ones and plug directly on the Fireblade??

Thanks a lot... i love the idea of exploit more eficienly the caracteristics of our CB500...

Andy can supply you the parts, such as the coils and the coil connectors. I had to crimp on some spade connectors and connect them into the loom. I've done about 6500KM since doing mine, with no issues to report.

Ok, so I'm going to give this upgrade mod a shot. I've sorted out the right parts I think (HONDA CBR 954RR FIREBLADE 2002/2003 SC50 DENSO IGNITION COILS & LOOM).
With regards to the wiring I take it that basically remove the two wires from each existing coil, which are then connected to the 2 pin multi plug on the fireblade caps?
My thoughts are to unravel the fire blade loom & use as much of it as possible, & connect into the wires of the CB500 loom. Which wires are which? as I dont want to connect them the wrong way around I.E. send a + to an -

The 954 fireblade has a separate sub loom for the coils so you can only get about 8 inches of the wires.
I can check on the wiring for you and I'll let you know tomorrow. My memory isn't what it used to be.

Well the coil sticks arrived today, pulled all the old insulation tape off the loom (Hardest part of the whole process) to see what I had to work with. Choose the pair with the longest black/white wires & fitted them to their respective plugs to test. Fired up instantly, so will need to put them in on a more permanent basis.
A big thanks to ANDYC on this, who went above & beyond in my opinion, a true gent.
Grab yourself a virtual beer on me & many thanks too.
I've had a misfire at around 2000 rpm for some time now, kinda suspected a coil was breaking down, but alas still have the misfire. I need to start another post on this probably, but this upgrade is well worth doing even if your not having issues
So a big +1 on the upgrade from me

I'll take a pair of these please Andy.
Any luck with the stainless engine bolts while we're at it?
I get down to Heathrow quite a bit so could collect all together if that's ok.
PM if you want to discuss further?

If you've still got a pair for sale (and the CBR1000RR coils work similarly to the 954 coils) I'll be happy to buy them.

P&p to Denmark - you name a price.
