Forum has moved?

Post by HomeBrew on Tue 29 Oct 2013, 10:30 am

So the forum is now at cb500.highbb.com rather than cb500club.net?

The domain has expired, cb500.highbb.com is where it actually lives Smile
I've contacted Dan the owner as he may have forgotten the renewal!

Edit: Odd because I've checked internic and it expires 30th October!

Yeah, something weird is happening.

When I'm at work and I try to go to http://www.cb500club.net/ I get the 'domain expired' message, when I try http://www.cb500club.net/ I get re-directed to http://www.cb500club.net/ and can't access the forum.

When I'm at home I can go to http://www.cb500club.net/ and the forum works fine....  don't know why this is.

I can't get hold of Dan, did you all receive the email I sent out explaining the outage?
If this continues any longer than a couple of days I'll have to modify the site to permanently revert to using the highbb address as all the links are wrong at the moment.

ET it sounds as though the old DNS info is cached on your work system, this will sort itself out or you can run a command prompt and type ipconfig /flushdns

Great, thanks for the feedback Homebrew Smile
Hopefully all will be back to normal over the next couple of days, although I am a little worried I've heard nothing from Dan (spitonyourgrave22); he's usually very fast on email replies.

Hi guys. I'm very much alive, thanks for the concern.

It would seem some absolute dickhead in France has gone and purchased our domain, possibly as a way of trying to make us buy it back from him. He's a domain broker.

Our renewal is in process, I'm not sure how it'll turn out. I'll email everyone on the site letting them know they can still access the site through cb500.highbb.com

Sorry for the problems guys! I'M sure we'll be running back again nice and smooth in no time Wink In the mean time, keep me posted on any development!

Cheers guys, keep the rubber down x

Well it would seem we're back online! Teamster i see you've already updated everyone. Nice one!

There are a bunch of people who tried to sign up during that down period who got lost. Let's try and bring them all home Wink

Cheers everyone involved!

I've had a few people PM me with issues, I had to reset their passwords.
Did seem strange that the expiry date on internic was 30th Oct and it was down yesterday although I did spot that you're using an anonymiser for the registrar.
I'll check the logs, good work Dan Smile
