Air Filter Mods

Post by KarDvy1405 on Fri 20 Sep 2013, 7:22 pm

Hi, i'm looking for a little guidance. I've just purchased a '96 CB500 which has a Fuel exhaust fitted. I'm thinking of ditching the standard airbox & replacing it with individual K&N clamp on filters. What size is the external dimensions of the carbs. Once fitted i'm going to get the bike set up on a dyno. What type of improvements should I see?

Bugger all. You won't gain any more power by ditching the airbox. The only thing that will increase is your fuel bill. Stick a K&N in it and NGK Iridium plugs.

Well, K&Ns bank balance will improve Wink  I suspect that might be all.

There are probably things you can do to the airbox to tune it better/differently, but removing it all together isn't a good plan.  There was a thread recently on here with some modification ideas...
