Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Post by Gandy on Tue 17 Sep 2013, 10:34 pm

Hello everybody
Thanks for having me.I got my bike last month and am delighted with it!
A few niggling things only but overall it is in great condition.
Does anybody know the correct air gap and oil weight for the 94 / 95 bike?

Welcome to the forum, fine choice of bike!

The CB500s forks are very basic and don't have an air gap, but they take 320cc (each leg) of whatever your preferred weight of oil is.

Thanks for the prompt reply!
And no air gap?
What is the usual oil weight used in them?

From Haynes page 6-1:
New bike Front_10

Most people tend to go with 15W or 10W.

Mine used to do this, but since I replaced the seals and put in new high quality oil to replace the ( presumably 10 years old ) stuff, the noise has gone away.
PS. Welcome

You lucky man. You're not far from the south coast. Some lovely roads there.
