fitting rental or streetfighter handlebars

Post by glen.wilson1@gmx.com on Mon 26 Aug 2013, 6:18 pm

hello again,
would like to fit some straight street fighter or renthal handle bars on my cb as i like the look. never removed the clutch lever, break lever or throttle is it a big job it looks straight forward but so do all jobs! im worried if the bars are straight it might cause the cables to not reach their new location. also while im at it im going to fit smaller indicators as mine are MASSIVE:D  its just me i like messing about i was going to stick to bulbs though for a straight swap over as leds would need more work would they not??

Hi there, I fitted rethanl low bars and didnt need to change cables but it may be due to the angle i wanted the bars to be at. Its prety straight forward, but make sure that you have a metal drill bit so you can drill into the bars so that the throttle assembly can be secured once again. All depends on how you want you want the bike set up. With regards to your mini indicators I swapped mini's front and rear, not too much of a problem although you may find that you will need to put in a resistor in the front pair like i had too. Also fitting them requires removal of cowling on the rear which was a tad irritating as when I swapped the indicators on my fireblades over the years they all have been easy to do. However, it is rewarding once done and drastically improves the look of the bike.
