Hi everyone

I have just bought a fairly crusty looking 39000 mile bike.

I am sorting out the cosmetics - usual things - engine sprayed with silver smoothrite via an airbrush (that is the way to do it - very controllable and virtually no over spray - looks nice!), Exhaust off and plasticote barbecue paint on + all the panels and the frame need a good tidy.

Had to strip the starter as it would not start once I got it home... Commutator was black! Scotch pad and a little WD40 and it's all shiny and starting is now instant. - advice on here really helped thanks.

Despite being a little neglected the engine sounds mint!

Will post pics once sorted.

Planning to use for commuting and days out - looking forward to some warm weather and dead keen to get out on it!

£44 per year for fully comp insurance was a pleasant surprise and tells you something about how long I've been on bikes....

I was surprised - been on bikes 30yrs plus and that helps but went to compare the market - that said £50 odd - pressed link to insurers website (Bennetts) and it was suddenly £44 - I pressed the go button pretty quickly!
